Physical Location

Nairobi, Kenya – Sameer Industrial Park. Cabinets are 42U high. All cabinets have unique locks ensuring that ONLY approved personnel have access per cabinet. Perforated front and back doors for maximum air flow.
Power
N+1 Power is provided at the site via two manual ring feeds diversely routed. In the Event of a complete failure, Power continuity is ensured by means of parallel redundant UPS systems. Each UPS Bus is designed to support full floor load incase of failure thereby offering 45min back up period. N+1 Diesel powered engines are capable of supporting the site sufficiently with fuel top ups done after 48hrs. The AC power is provided to the rack from two separate diverse routes from the Main Distribution Board. Separate fuses A & B power tap off-units, providing power as defined in the service order form. Upgrade to power upon customer request and beyond subject to feasibility.
Cooling
The N+1 system maintains a constant ambient temperature of 22+/-2 degrees Celsius with relative humidity of 50 to 60%.
Fire
Pro active fire monitoring systems and best practice fire prevention and protection procedures. Diesel tanks and generators physically separated. Independent power for fire protection and monitoring
Monitoring
Alarms and Early Warning message alert NOC agents of duty 24-7-365. Unified BMS – Building Management System – logs all security and environmental data.
Security
Pre-Authorization required for Data Center access in line with KDN Data Center Policy. Comprehensive perimeter and building security with “zones within zones” for multiple layers of security. Service areas physically separate from Data Center areas. Continuous video surveillance of all zones and cabinets. Comprehensive audit logs on all access. Additional policies can be implemented for private cage customers.
Flooring
Customer Racks are installed on a raised floor with a minimum clearance of 600mm capable of supporting a floor load min of 1200Kg per sq m.
Facilities
Staging areas and customer work spaces are provided for customer use. Connectivity Data Center is Carrier Neutral with all approved operators allowed to host communication equipments within the Carrier Hotel. Data Center has redundant and sufficient fiber link connectivity. All cabling managed by KDN installation policies and by approved KDN installers to guarantee availability.
